Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup: Tactically “bankrupt” coach Akonnor admits errors in Black Stars play

Ghana Black Stars coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has admitted that his team failed to keep its composure in the midfield during the second half of Ghana’s game against South Africa

The Black stars lost to Hugo Broos’s side at FNB Stadium in South Africa after Bongokuhle Hlongwane drill on 83rd minutes to emerge 1-0 win over Ghana and move top in Group G with 4 points.

Black Stars have dropped to the second position with three points following the 1-0 loss to Bafana Bafana.

Ghana will face Zimbabwe in a double-header 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.

After the game, C.K Akunor expressing his disenchantment in his team not playing to instructions said
“In the second half, we somehow lost the midfield in terms of how we want to play because we believed that we could win the game,

“We did one or two substitutions, which went the other way round and we kept dropping and dropping,” -coach Akonnor added.
