16 year old Ebenezer Ackahbi obsessed about hoisting league trophy with Medeama SC

16 year old debutant, Ebenezer Ackahbi of Medeama SC has been dazzling on and off the pitch winning many hearts and followers ever since the Ghana premier league season commenced.

Ackahbi a native of Tarkwa; the base of Medeama SC, has been a revelation and a name mentioned many times for good footballing reasons. The youngster made his breakthrough this campaign under Samuel Boadu at the Mauves and Yellows and has never looked back since.

He First he narrates how he got signed by the club.

“I remember the first time I ended up with Medeama, I remember we had a scouting game and the Coach saw me, he said I had the talent so he will let them register me so that’s how I ended up at Medeama Sporting Club” he said.

At 16 years many youngsters dream of lucrative deals that can afford them luxurious lifestyles. Many, mainly dream of just getting regular game time at their club of choice.

For Ackahbi, it’s more of the latter than the former. Actually the youngster wants more than just being a regular at club level. He’s set his sights on achieving the undone at the club; winning the league.

In their 10 years of existence, Medeama SC has never annexed the Ghana Premier League trophy. This thirst for league glory has been a scene that has played out in the mind of Ackahbi for a very long time in his few years as a footballer.

The youngster speaks of his determination and why it’s become more of an everyday obsession to ensure Medeama SC get to be declared title winners at the end of the season.

“When I came to Medeama Sporting Club, the first thing that I realised was that they have not won the league before”.

“So I just set a target for myself that if I get the chance to play for Medeama I want to win a league with them. Because winning a league with Medeama Sporting Club it’s a real legacy for me, so that’s why I’ve been praying that God should help me so that I achieve that with Medeama SC”.

“When the league had not started we were determined to win the league and after playing like 15 matches, I can see that our determination is coming true so that one I can assure you that if we continue the league,  we will win it” he said emphatically.
