Kumasi Asante Kotoko Head Coach Steve Pollack says the Black Stars B side were worthy losers in their 2018 CHAN Qualifier against Burkina Faso on Sunday.
Ghana went down 4-3 on aggregate to the Stallions after their 2-1 loss in the 2nd leg at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The team, led by Black Stars 2nd assistant Maxwell Konadu has now failed to qualify for the tournament in the last two editions.
According to Pollack, the Burkinabes were superior on the day and deserved the win.
“As a Ghanaian it’s not nice, but if you were at the game I think the better team won. I wanted Ghana to go through because I work here, but the team from Burkina Faso was clearly tactically superior on the day,” he said.
“They put pressure on the Black Stars in the first half and scored two goals, and defended very well in the second.
“Ghana were just not lethal enough in front of goals and it’s a shame they didn’t qualify, but hopefully they can do so in two years time.”
The Black Stars B side started with four Kotoko players in the lineup.
